Third Thursday Tip – Artwork Action

Three Little Birds - Third Thursday TipHey customers!  Last month in “Logo Language” we told you what to have and do when creating your own logo.  This month we’re telling you how to help us give birth to your new logo or design!  Here are a few things that would be helpful to have prior to your visit with us!

  • Quarter inch bleeds on printable files are helpful because no printer has exact registration.  Registration is how accurately a printer prints artwork in the same place.  For example, when printing more than one business card the printer may shift the artwork on a few of the cards.  Having quarter inch bleeds help us avoid this for you.
  • It’s great for us to use sized appropriate files as well – .jpeg files won’t allow us to enlarge your artwork! 😦

We love printing your personal artwork and with these tips, we guarantee to make your new artwork come to life!

A world of thanks…

These fun thank you notes were created for a world traveler.  The faux passport stamps reflect places this customer actually visited.  We just love the plane and banner indicating the special delivery.

Save the Date Saturday – Pittsburgh Skyline

Nina lives in Charlotte, but is getting married in her hometown of Pittsburgh.  The color palette features the beautiful combination of blush and gold.  Wanted to highlight her hometown’s beautiful skyline was important since that’s the location of the venue.  So, we created an illustrated version of Pittsburgh and combined with classic fonts.  The gold envelope added a subtle, and unexpected, boldness to the blush.

Third Thursday Tip – Logo Language

Three Little Birds - Third Thursday Tip

When creating a logo, you need to have more than just your logo.  When you think about it, it’s a little like cooking.  You have to follow the recipe and have all the right ingredients.  In addition to the logo, make sure your designer provides the following “ingredients”:

– PMS Colors
– Font
– Formats

    • Vector files – .ai, .eps, .pdf
Now you’re probably asking why you would need a vector file.  A vector file is used to ensure that your artwork is scaled.  Whether you want your logo really small like a business card or really large like a billboard, you can do it in a vector file!
    • jpeg and .png files
Note that .jpeg has a permanently white background .png does not have a background.

Now that’s Logo Language!

Save the Date Saturday – Not Just for Weddings

Who says Save the Dates are exclusive to weddings?  Not us or our clients!  Here is one for a B’Nai Mitzvah.

The twins, Skylar and Dylan, want a party theme event so the Save the Dates had to set the tone.

The paper, which features a holographic squiggle pattern on the back, paired well with their fun color palette.  The round die cut also added to the uniqueness of the design.

Great Couple & Great Pictures – Save the Date Saturday

Jodi and Chad are a great couple!  They’ve dated for years and will marry in May.  They asked us to create their Save the Dates with some of the great pictures from their engagement session.  Their neutral attire allowed us to infuse the card with their colors of blush, cream and brown.
